Offensive lineman Nick Brigham, who withdrew from the University of Maryland as a freshman in September because of personal reasons, has transferred to Georgia Tech, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Brigham was a four-star recruit from Marist High School, a 20-minute drive north of  Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium. Once rated the 24th guard nationally by ESPN and the state’s 28th-ranked player, Brigham never appeared in a game for the Terrapins this fall, ultimately withdrawing in late September.

Brigham’s high school c

oach Alan Chadwick told the AJC that “it just didn’t quite work out for him” at Maryland. According to his biography in the Terps preseason media guide, Brigham also considered Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt before initially deciding to enroll at Maryland.

For those keeping track, those either transferring or leaving the Maryland football team since the start of 2012 as are follows:

RB Justus Pickett (withdrew; family matter)

DB Makinton Dorleant (Northern Iowa)

QB Devin Burns (transferring; destination unknown)

OL Nick Brigham (Georgia Tech)
