UPDATE 1:02 P.M.: Maryland freshman guard Seth Allen will not play in the first half because of disciplinary reasons, a school spokesman said without elaborating further.

ORIGINAL POST: Good morning-almost-afternoon from Cameron Indoor Stadium, where Maryland (15-4, 3-3 ACC) will tip off against top-ranked Duke (16-2, 3-2) at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast on CBS, with Ian Eagle and Clark Kellogg on the call.

But first, a quick quote from Coach Mark Turgeon, when asked if, 19 games into the season, anything surprises him anymore with this young team.

“I think we have a pretty good feel, because we watch it every day in practice, too,” Turgeon said. “We turn it over in practice too now. It’s not like we do it when the lights come on. That doesn’t surprise me. I have been pleasantly surprised with our defense. Alex [Len] has a lot to do with it. I don’t know the stats exactly, I think 35 percent in the league teams are shooting against us, that’s pretty extraordinary for a young team, to be guarding that way. And we haven’t played an easy schedule. It gets a little tougher here. We’re going to be challenged at Duke because they can really spread you.”

Thanks as always for reading and enjoy the game.
