Greetings from the eve of National Signing Day 2013, where dreams come true and fax machines once again feel some semblance of self-worth.

The Maryland football team is, as of this moment, expecting to receive 16 letters-of-intent, not including wide receiver Deon Long, offensive lineman Silvano Altamirano and athlete Will Likely, all of whom have already enrolled for the spring semester and will be present at the day’s festivities in College Park.

More information on Long and Altamirano is here, while details of Likely’s December commitment is here. A 17th recruit, kicker Adam Greene from Broadneck High School, is also committed to the Terps, but will not receive an athletic scholarship for the upcoming season.

Maryland also remains in the running for linebacker Yannick Ngakoue, an Under Armour all-American deciding between Maryland, Florida State and South Carolina, as well as running back Jacquille Veii, who holds offers from the Terps, Nebraska, and Iowa. Colleague Eric Detweiler also spoke with Suitland wide receiver Taivon Jacobs, who originally committed to Ohio State but will decide Tuesday between the Buckeyes and Maryland.

Scoring that trio would neatly compliment an already deep class for the Terps, especially on the outside. Adding Jacobs, for instance, to a wideout corps alongside his brother Levern Jacobs, Long, Stefon Diggs, Marcus Leak and Nigel King would instantly give Maryland an offensive jolt.

Once the faxes start rolling in around 7 a.m. tomorrow morning, Terps Insider will be posting brief bios of every Maryland signee, which will be announced on Edsall’s Twitter account as well. At 3 p.m., Edsall will hold his National Signing Day news conference at Gossett Field House, to be joined by coaches and players in discussing the latest class. Then at 4 p.m., Edsall and quarterback C.J. Brown will host a Google+ Hangout to answer fan questions.

So stick around for everything tomorrow. There will also casually be a news conference with men’s basketball coach Mark Turgeon at 2 p.m., sandwiching all the fuss in College Park.
