The Maryland football team’s visit to ACC media days passed with little fanfare, save Coach Randy Edsall throwing his support behind the plaintiffs in the O’Bannon lawsuit. Players C.J. Brown and Dexter McDougle flew into Greensboro and out within 24 hours; Edsall did the same.

The players have a week off before reporting back to College Park for preseason camp in early August — McDougle will go to Stafford for fishing and his mother’s Filipino cooking, Brown to Pittsburgh, just in time to watch the Pirates’ ship come in, the rest to their respective home towns. Maryland media day, the first and only opportunity to speak with freshmen before their first game — per team policy — will be on Aug. 5.
