Stefon Diggs throws out first pitch at Orioles game

UPDATE: Video has surfaced, via @Mr_KevinJones on Vine.

Sunday was supposed to be just another day for the Maryland football team, less than two weeks away from its season-opener against Florida International on Aug. 31. The Terrapins had scrimmaged on Saturday. Meetings would break down film and review the performances. Instead, Coach Randy Edsall cancelled everything and took them to the Orioles game instead.

Presumably, because of the impromptu trip up to Baltimore, wide receiver Stefon Diggs didn’t learn he would throw the first pitch until hours before he stood on the Camden Yards mound and delivered. No video has surfaced as of yet, but at least Diggs was better than John Wall.

(This caused former Maryland defensive lineman — and current Miami Dolphin — A.J. Francis to chime in, all in good fun.)

Diggs and Edsall also posed for pictures with the Oriole Bird, and Diggs chatted with outfielder Adam Jones in the dugout.

Apparently, attending baseball games makes freshman linebacker Jalen Brooks uncomfortable…

…so he took a nap instead.

The team eventually took in the game from the grandstands, and even got some television time after Jones crushed a two-run homer in the third inning. The Terps celebrated thusly:
