Local offensive lineman E.J. Donahue tweets commitment to Maryland

A rough afternoon for the Maryland football team — the Terps suffered a 40-27 loss to ninth-ranked Clemson on Saturday — got somewhat better after nightfall Saturday, when local offensive lineman E.J. Donahue tweeted his commitment to the Terrapins.

Ranked a four-star recruit by 247sports.com, the Linganore High School product clocks in at 6 feet 5 and 330 pounds. No wonder his Twitter handle is @EJDonahuge. Donahue, who reportedly held offers from Old Dominion, Rutgers and West Virginia, becomes Maryland’s first class of 2015 oral commitment. He is ranked Maryland’s seventh-best player in his class, according to 247sports.
