In five days, the final ACC regular-season matchup between the Maryland men’s basketball team and Duke will tip off at Cameron Indoor Stadium, officially closing one final chapter in a rivalry that has endured for decades. Perhaps there will be epilogues down the road, maybe an NCAA tournament meeting or a Big Ten/ACC Challenge, but for now consider this the story’s formal end.

To preview, the Washington Post has filmed a documentary looking back on two defining years in the matchup, the 2000-01 and 2001-02 college basketball seasons. The Blue Devils finished as the 2001 national champions, beating Maryland in the Final Four. The next year, the Terrapins won their first national title, while Duke was bounced in the Sweet Sixteen.

The trailer for the documentary, which will be released on Wednesday, is embedded below.
