Maryland football received its fourth commitment in 24 hours Friday evening with the pledge of rising senior safety Jameel Cooke out of Texas.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Cooke, who plays at Ridge Point High School in Missouri City, Texas, is considered a two-star prospect by Rivals and had a long list of offers, including Missouri, Arizona State and Utah.
Cooke’s commitment came just hours after the Terps picked up a commitment from Florida receiver Jahrvis Davenport, and marks the second prospect from Texas to commit in the past week. Maryland also received a pledge from San Antonio-area defensive tackle Mbi Tanyi last week. Maryland has picked up 10 commitments since June 7.
