Brown's campaign announced this morning that it raised nearly $7.5 million for the quarter and had $10.2 million cash on hand. Warren's campaign did not provide a cash on hand number.
The $12.1 million quarterly haul is not quite a record, but Warren has established herself as one of the greatest fundraisers in the history of Senate campaigns -- and now some polls are starting to show her opening up a small lead on Brown.
The biggest fundraising quarters in history include former congressman Rick Lazio (R-N.Y.), who raised $22 million in the third quarter for his 2000 Senate campaign against Hillary Clinton, and 2010 Nevada GOP Senate candidate Sharron Angle, who raised $14 million in the third quarter against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.).
Third quarter reports cover July 1 through Sept. 30.
