On Monday, House Speaker John Boehner dropped his own proposal to avoid the fiscal cliff, just days after President Obama had laid out a proposal that had been met with universal scorn by Republicans on Capitol Hill.

President Obama made clear in an interview with Bloomberg today that the House plan was still not balanced enough for his liking -- ensuring, yes, even more partisan bickering in the weeks to come.
