After House GOP leaders took heat for not naming any women to chair committees, House Speaker John Boehner (Ohio) tapped Rep. Candice Miller (R-Mich.) last week to head the House Administration Committee.

That left Comedy Centrral's Jon Stewart with some questions.

"So it's seniority. Let me get this straight. The party that hates the teachers union gives chairmanships based on tenure?" Stewart asked on his Tuesday night program.

"The Daily Show" host wasn't too impressed with the title GOP leadership gave to Miller.

"She will be the chair of the House Administration Committee, whose responsibilities apparently range from making Congress more open and accessible to ensuring the House runs efficiently and smoothly. So we've got a woman to be, to coin a phrase, the House wife. Problem solved," he said.
