UPDATE: Read the extended version of this list here. Are you a blog owner on the state political blogs list? Contact us to update your information: comments@washpost.com.

After weeks of combing through, literally, thousands of nominations we are ready to unveil the Fix's 2013 list of the best state-based political blogs! (A HUGE thank you to WaPo's Natalie Jennings who compiled all of the nominations.)

This is your United States.

The list is sorted alphabetically by state below. In many states we got so many nominations that we had to name more than one blog as best. In three states -- Alaska, Hawaii and West Virginia -- we got NO nominations. But we didn't want to hold the whole process up simply because those three states couldn't keep up.

A note: All of these blogs are nominated by Fix readers. Many of them are partisan -- on both sides -- and it should go without saying that we don't endorse the opinions expressed in them. But, we are saying it anyway. We did our best to weed out any blogs that regularly publish potentially offensive content but something always slips through the cracks. Use your judgment -- bookmark the ones you like, ignore the others.

Enjoy! And tell us who/what/where we missed in the comments section! We'll add to this list as the suggestions come in. Also, stay tuned: We'll have a better display for all of the best state-based political blogs on The Fix in the very near future!
