On Monday, Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe (D) vetoed a measure that would have required voters to show identification before voting, drawing renewed attention to an issue Democrats and Republicans have tussled over in numerous states.
* In Virginia, Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) signed a bill that would require voters to present a photo ID when they cast a ballot as soon as fall 2014. That is not reflected in the above map.
* In the key swing state of Pennsylvania, expect to hear more about the battle over voter ID laws later this year. Before the election last fall, a judge put on hold a law that would have required voters to show photo identification. The fate of the measure will be decided in a trial that is set to kick off on July 15. The law will not apply to Pennsylvania's May primaries.
