Reported shooting happens near Obama fundraiser: Three people were wounded in a shooting in the area near Santa Monica College, the Los Angeles Times reported, several miles from where President Obama was holding a fundraiser, according to a White House pool report. “We are aware of the incident and it is not impacting the visit,” Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan said, according to the pool report. “It’s a local police matter at this point." The shooter has been detained, The Times reports.

Prosecutors want Jackson to face four years in prison: Federal prosecutors have recommended that former congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. be imprisoned for four years and that his wife, Sandi Jackson, face 18 months of prison time. The former congressman plead guilty to campaign finance violations while his wife plead guilty in a related case. Sentencing will take place on July 3.

Manchin says Holder should think about stepping down: Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) told Bloomberg Television that Attorney General Eric Holder should consider resigning. "Whenever you feel that you have lost your effectiveness or may be losing your effectiveness to the detriment of the job that you do,” Manchin said, “you have to evaluate that and make a decision. And I think we’re at the time now where decisions have to be made.”

Booker planning Saturday kickoff: Newark Mayor Cory Booker (D) plans to announce on Saturday that he will run in the Senate special election. Booker’s plans are somewhat uncertain, though -- a large part of the East Coast is currently in the path of Tropical Storm Andrea.
