The 113th Congress has nearly set sail, after finishing its last session doing what its does best: procrastinating and fighting and generally stressing everyone out. Although the members began their stint at Capitol Hill with big dreams and a determination to start new trends that hadn't been seen in Congress for awhile — like being productive or being popular.

As they end, it seems like they ended up just sticking with the trend they adopted in the last session, wearing their "do-nothing" label loud and proud, as we noted in last week's Friday quiz. This week we are determined to note that, even though they may not have set any new exciting trends themselves, they do try to keep up with the kids are doing — sometimes even bringing up said trends in floor speeches.

And perhaps they do it so well that it is sometimes impossible to distinguish congressional copy on trends from trend pieces themselves.

Try for yourself below, as we remember the year in questionable trends, and the 113th Congress' determination to be relevant.

Unfortunately, we were unable to find instances of legislators discussing lumbersexuals, hipsters or twerking. Maybe next Congress.
