Thursday night, Stephen Colbert said goodbye to the 'Colbert Report', and everyone in the world joined him.
This is not an exaggeration.
Bill Clinton sent him a tweet.

Grover Norquist was there. Eliot Spitzer was there.
Cory Booker and Mike Huckabee were there.
Thomas Friedman was there.
Henry Kissinger was there.
Eleanor Holmes Norton was there.
Bill DeBlasio was there — plus many, many actors, journalists and other people. Also, monsters.
We weren't kidding when we said everyone.
The best person who was there was, 0bjectively, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power, who had more fun than anyone else.
Realizing that this was an opportunity to help their brand, many of the people taking part in the farewell made sure to tweet about it too.

.@StephenAtHome wouldn’t let me tell you in advance that I would be on the finale of The Colbert Report. Hope DC didn't miss it!

The show ended with Santa, Unicorn Abraham Lincoln and Alex Trebek — even though he's sort of Canadian — picking Colbert up so they could go on adventures. God Bless America.
