SNL ‘Bubble’ skit about liberals in denial over Trump was perfect

When Donald Trump won the White House 12 days ago, there was a very common sentiment expressed along the east and west coasts of the country: How?

After all, no one they knew had voted for Trump. In fact, he was a punchline for jokes to many of them. In a race between Trump and Hillary Clinton, it wasn't even a contest for them.

That disconnect with the rest of the country is the subject of a brilliant sendup of head-in-the-sand-ism among liberals in the new Trump world on last night's “Saturday Night Live.” It envisions a literal bubble where “life can continue for progressive Americans just as before.”

The Bubble is “a community of like-minded free thinkers....and no one else” where hybrid cars, used-book stores and “small farms with the rawest milk you've ever tasted” dominate.

SNL's skewering of liberal reaction to Trump's election runs counter to a tweet the president-elect sent this morning blasting the show.

Maybe he missed the “Bubble” sketch?
