Valve shipping Steam Machines to beta-testers. Here’s the production line.

(Valve)

Gaming company Valve is shipping out their first hardware foray to beta testers today: The Steam Machine and its dual trackpad controller. They announced the timing (and released the above photos of the production line above) Wednesday; If you didn't get a notice that you'd be receiving a machine then, you weren't selected as one of the 300 beta-testers. But they are also planning to release the linux-based SteamOS for download today, although "unless you’re an intrepid Linux hacker already," Valve suggest you wait until 2014 try it out.
