A sheriff deputy’s uniform, ballistic vest and fake firearm could be the makings of a Halloween costume. Or it could be used to illegally impersonate an officer.

A 14-year-old boy in San Bernardino, Calif., was arrested Tuesday after police said he falsely identified himself as a sheriff’s deputy on multiple occasions.

Investigators said the suspect approached a home in full uniform and told the resident he was there to “investigate a reported domestic disturbance.”

Video shows the suspect pulling into the driveway in an SUV with flashing red and blue lights and no license plate or other law enforcement markers.

Police discovered several law enforcement-related items at the residence of a 14-year-old boy who is suspected of impersonating a sheriff’s deputy.

In a search of the teen’s home, detectives found a uniform, counterfeit money, simulation firearms, ballistic vests and other law enforcement-related items, which can also be seen in the video above.

The suspect, who was already on probation, was booked at High Desert Juvenile Detention Center. His name was not released because he is a juvenile.
