The 25 four-story townhouses at Rosslyn Commons will be built on a landscaped plaza bordered by North Oak Street and 16th Road North, near both the Rosslyn and Court House Metro stations, Interstate 66, Key Bridge and the Mount Vernon Trail and a bike and pedestrian path.

Madison Homes and Resmark Land and Housing, a division of the Resmark Companies, have formed a joint venture to develop the townhouses, which are expected to be priced between $1.2 million and $1.3 million.

Each home will have 2,300 to 2,599 square feet, a two-car garage and a deck off the main level. Most will also have a rooftop terrace and an elevator. Standard features include oak stairs, Silestone countertops, ceramic flooring and hardwood flooring.

Boomerang buyers set to impact local housing market

Approximately 17.5 percent of home purchases in the D.C. metro area in 2014 will be made by “boomerang” buyers — people who lost their home through foreclosure or short sale during the past few years, according to John Burns Real Estate Consulting.

The company’s research shows that  more than 75,000 homeowners lost their home during those years.

In 2014 and in the coming decade, many of those former homeowners will be able to qualify again for a mortgage and intend to buy a home but with a more affordable and realistic housing payment.
