Sales are expected to begin soon at Hampden Row, a luxury high-rise condo at 4912 Hampden Lane in Bethesda that is  Toll Brothers’ City Living’s first development in the Washington area.

The division has developed luxury buildings in New York City, Philadelphia and Hoboken and Jersey City in New Jersey. Hampden Row rests in the center of downtown Bethesda with an abundance of shops and restaurants surrounding the 55 residences, including those in Bethesda Row.

Residents can walk less than three blocks to the Bethesda Metro station. Building amenities include a rooftop fitness center, a landscaped rooftop terrace, a residents’ lounge, garage parking, bike storage and a 24-hour attended lobby.

Apartments now leasing in west end of Alexandria

Modera Tempo, a transit-oriented mixed-use community that is a joint venture of Mill Creek Residential and AEW Capital Management, recently began leasing 492 luxury apartments in the west end of Alexandria.

The development, which also has 15,000 square feet of retail space, is the first to be completed as part of the Landmark/Van Dorn Small Area Plan. The first building of Modera Tempo is already complete and more than 50 apartments have been leased. A second building will be completed later this month and a third will be finished in April.

Modera Tempo at 5760 Dow Ave., at the corner of South Van Dorn and South Pickett streets, is within walking distance of the Van Dorn Metro station. The development also has a free shuttle service to Metro. Other community amenities include two 24-hour fitness centers, two swimming pools, three private courtyards, concierge services, a dog “spa,” a community kitchen, a yoga studio and bike storage.

The studio to two-bedroom apartments rent from $1,565 to $3,190 per month. The units have granite or quartz kitchen counters, glass tile kitchen backsplashes, custom-designed cabinets, stainless steel appliances, high ceilings and wood flooring.

New townhouses available in Anne Arundel County

Winchester Homes recently opened the Kelson model at Watson’s Glen, a new townhouse community in Millersville, Md.

The first phase of the community will have 45 houses; when complete, the community will have 103 houses. The development offers access to multiple commuter routes to Washington and nearby Fort Meade. Watson’s Glen will have a tot lot and an open play area and is close to Kinder Farm Park, home to the Garcelon Sports Complex. Annapolis Mall is also nearby for shops and restaurants.

Smart home demonstration at Creighton Farms
