Michael Harris Homes/Streetscape Partners anticipate breaking ground later in 2015 for approximately 128 contemporary condos with a “post-industrial” design in Downtown Crown, the walkable neighborhood of Crown, a planned community in Gaithersburg.

The three-building condo complex at Diamondback Drive and Copley Street will have a variety of floor plans from a single-level, one-bedroom to a two-level, two-bedroom unit with a den. Every unit will have an outdoor space such as a balcony, a terrace or a rooftop patio.

The buildings will have a factory brick exterior to resemble a reuse of an industrial space. The interiors will have exposed ceilings, large windows, loft spaces and modern finishes and fixtures. Planned community amenities include bike storage, private parking spaces and a resident-only rooftop deck. Residents will be able to walk to restaurants, a coffee shop, a fitness center, a grocery store and other shops. The price range for the condos has not been determined yet.

Michael Harris Homes is the seventh homebuilder at Crown, where apartments, condos, townhouses and single-family houses are available in Downtown Crown and the Crown West neighborhood.

The community, set on 182 acres off Interstate 270 and Intercounty Connector, will eventually include up to 2,250 homes and 320,000 square feet of retail space. Prices are expected to range from the $300,000s to the $500,000s. For more information, go to www.SmartUrbanLiving.com.
