A set of Gothic-style antique wood carvings made in 19th century France were the inspiration for the design of a Tudor-style home built on the waterfront of Lake Barcroft in 1959.
This Falls Church home, at 6331 Waterway Dr., is priced at $1.875 million.
The four-bedroom, five-bathroom estate with three fireplaces and a generator was renovated in 2005 by current owners Luis and Victoria Fernandez. The home retains its Tudor exterior and the antique wood carvings on the front door and in several interior rooms.
According to Peter Colasante of the L’Enfant Galerie in Georgetown, the carvings are replicas of craftwork found in stone castles and palaces of French royalty.
While the antique carvings provide a decorative and historic theme for the home, the property also has nearly one acre of lakefront land with landscaping, a koi pond, slate patios and a private dock with a pontoon boat.
