In this day and age, many potential buyers are accustomed to finding a home through a Web search without an agent. Now they can get rewarded for it.

Such buyers are eligible for a rebate through a service offered by The company, which helps owners sell their homes without an agent, has recently added brokerage services. Buyers can get up to half of’s commission as a rebate at settlement, as much as 1.5 percent of the purchase price.

A buyer who finds a home and has an offer in mind can opt to work with an agent just to document the offer and negotiate the transaction and then receive a partial commission rebate. The company’s database includes homes on multiple listing services as well as for-sale-by-owner and bank foreclosure properties.

Buyers and sellers can choose to work with an in-house agent for help with pricing, getting a home listed on the MLS, showing a home, negotiating and closing. Sellers typically pay a fixed fee to list their home with, saving approximately 3 percent of the sales price of their home in commissions.
