The 10th annual Howard County Housing Fair, known as “Come to Howard County,” takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Howard High School in Ellicott City, Md.

Attendees at the free event can gather information about renting and buying in the county from group sessions and one-on-one meetings. More than 50 real estate agents, apartment community representatives, mortgage lenders, housing specialists and county government personnel will be available to provide information.

More than 25 education seminars will be held, offering tips on buying a first home, improving your credit and securing a mortgage. Attendees can take bus tours to visit new and existing communities that offer rentals and homes for purchase in Howard County. Children’s activities and prize drawings are also part of the fair.

The fair features a housing lottery in which a pre-qualified applicant will win a chance to purchase a deeply discounted townhouse in the Village Towns subdivision in Elkridge. The recently renovated 1,240-square-foot residence was built by Ryan Homes in 2006 and features three bedrooms and three baths. Applications for the housing lottery are now closed.

The free fair takes place at Howard High School, 8700 Old Annapolis Rd. in Ellicott City. For more information about the Housing Fair and the Lottery, visit www.howardcountyhousing.com or call at 410-313-6318, option 4.
