The construction cranes continue to dot the skyline in Washington’s Navy Yard neighborhood, but one new high-rise apartment, Insignia on M, is now ready for occupants.

Bozzuto Management Company has begun leasing at the 324-unit, 13-story apartment at 1111 New Jersey Ave. SE, built by joint venture partners Donohue and MetLife.

Insignia on M is directly above the Navy Yard-Ballpark Metro station and within walking distance of Nationals Park and myriad restaurants, shops and bars as well as the Yards and Canal Park. A Whole Foods will open later this year. The apartment building includes 11,000 square feet of retail space and three levels of reserved garage parking.

Building amenities include a rooftop swimming pool, a pet spa and a fitness center with a yoga room. In addition, the building has a 60-foot plaza with seating and gardens, a penthouse-level club with a bar, pool table, TVs, a living area and gas grilling stations with waterfront and Capitol views. The building also has a coffee bar with WiFi, concierge services, a package room with refrigerated storage for grocery deliveries and bike storage.

WDG Architecture designed the apartments, which include nine-foot-high ceilings, hardwood flooring, LED recessed lighting and a keyless entry system. In the kitchen, the apartments have stone counters, stainless-steel appliances and glass-tile backsplashes. In the bathroom, they have soaking tubs, subway-tile shower and tub surrounds and vanities with rectangular sinks. Some units have balconies and floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

Rents range from $2,075 for a studio apartment with up to 510 square feet to $3,425 for a two-bedroom apartment with up to 1,074 square feet.
