Country Casual Teak customers can now pick their furniture using virtual reality. (Country Casual Teak)

Country Casual Teak, a provider of outdoor teak furniture based in Gaithersburg, recently celebrated its 40th anniversary in business with a forward-looking innovation: virtual reality.

Consumers can virtually tour the showroom, an outdoor terrace from the 2016 DC Design House and installations of teak furniture at wineries and in residential courtyards, porches and poolside decks. The service can be used to help visualize how different pieces fit into various spaces. To use the virtual reality function online, you’ll need Google Cardboard, 360°, Samsung Gear or Oculus Rift equipment.

The store, which provides teak furniture for homes, museums, parks, schools, churches, gardens and recreation centers, is also introducing a variety of newly designed furniture and reintroducing its classic Brittany Bench. The Brittany Bench has an ergonomic curved seat and a sculpted armrest and a classic hoopback design.

Other new designs include a mid-century Danish-modern inspired collection that can be customized with various fabrics and a contemporary-style customizable sectional.
