Using data from Rockville-based multiple-listing service Bright MLS, we compiled a list of some of the most expensive houses for sale in the Washington area. Listings range from $3.75 million for a restored Capitol Hill house to $9.988 million for a 20,000-square-foot McLean mansion.
• 904 Chinquapin Rd., McLean

Built in 2013, this McLean estate rests on 3.7 acres.
