Wizards vs. Heat: Game 15 discussion thread

(Nick Wass/Associated Press) Chris Singleton gets his first start of the year as the Wizards look for their second win of the season Tuesday when they host Miami.

The Wizards enter Tuesday night’s game at Verizon Center with a two-game winning streak against Miami. Granted, those victories came in April of last season when the Heat rested their star players, but it still counts as a two-game winning streak.

Coach Randy Wittman said he would tweak the lineup against the Heat and indeed he has. The Wizards will go with their fifth starting lineup of the year, giving Chris Singleton his first start of the 2012-13 season. Singleton, who started 57 games in 2011-12, will be joined by A.J. Price, Bradley Beal, Trevor Ariza and Emeka Okafor.

What Wittman was willing to share is what elements he wants his 1-13 squad to improve upon following the Wizards’ 108-87 loss to the Knicks on Nov. 30.

“We can’t turn the ball over. That was our demise in New York,” Wittman said, referencing the Wizards’ 11 assists to 17 turnovers against New York. “That’s got to be our No. 1 focus from an offensive standpoint and we’ve got to get the ball moved up the floor at a quicker pace.”
