After suffering the most “embarrassing” loss of the season at the Palace of Auburn Hills, the Wizards are seeking some payback against the Detroit Pistons. They have brought some assistance in the form of Nene, who will make his first start of the season, and Bradley Beal, who returns after missing the past two games with a lower back injury to start in the rematch.

Nene’s influence is usually felt the moment he steps on the court, but his impact is probably greater when he doesn’t play. The Wizards’ three most lopsided losses have all come with Nene sidelined because of a sore left foot, including Friday’s 100-68 loss to Detroit. Nene’s return may mean fewer minutes for Jan Vesely, who had six points after sitting out the previous two games because of DNP-Coach Decisions.
