Wizards vs. Jazz: Game 40 discussion thread

The Wizards hadn’t won a game on a last-second shot before Bradley Beal stunned the Oklahoma City Thunder on Jan. 7, but they now have two this month after Jordan Crawford nailed a buzzer-beating three-pointer to send them out of Portland on Monday with a 98-95 victory. Washington is now 3-6 in games decided by three points or less.

“It’s good,” Coach Randy Wittman said. “We’ve made some plays at the end of games. It’s good to finally see things go our way a little bit now.”
Beal and John Wall both missed potential game winners in the closing seconds of their loss to Sacramento to open this West Coast trip. But they have an opportunity to return home with a winning record for this trip if they defeat the Utah Jazz. The Jazz won, 83-76, at Verizon Center on Nov. 17.

The Wizards haven’t recorded a winning record on a West Coast trip since going 3-1 from Dec. 17-22, 2006.
