Wizards vs Grizzlies: Game 45 Discussion Thread

The Wizards will look to snap their two-game losing streak and end a six-game losing skid in Memphis as they take on the new-look Grizzlies at FedEx Forum. But they will have to do it without the services of Bradley Beal, who will miss his second consecutive game with a sprained right wrist.

Garrett Temple will remain the starter at shooting guard after scoring just two points and handing out three assists in a 92-88 loss on Wednesday in Philadelphia. Temple was surprised that Coach Randy Wittman chose him as the replacement for Beal but understood the decision.”

“If a guy is not going to be out for the long, you want to keep the rotation the same,” said Temple, who had played less than four minutes combined in the previous three games. “My main thing was to be a defender, but I’m getting a feel for it, getting my feet under me.”

The Grizzlies will play their first home games since trading leading scorer Rudy Gay to Toronto in a three-team deal that yielded Ed Davis, Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye. Davis, Prince and Daye will all be available for Memphis, which is coming off a 106-89 loss on Thursday in Oklahoma City – their first game without Gay.

The Wizards haven’t won in Memphis since the Grizzlies opened their home arena with a 103-91 loss on Nov. 3, 2004.
