John Wall and Bradley Beal aren’t making the trip to Spain for the FIBA World Cup, but at least one member of the Wizards is: Nenê.

The Brazilian big man took the floor against Team USA at the United Center in an exhibition game Saturday night and scored 11 points in Brazil’s 95-78 loss to the Americans. He shot 4 of 7 from the floor, 3 of 7 from the free-throw line, and grabbed five rebounds in 19 minutes.

The ESPN broadcast mentioned that Nenê took a month off from basketball this summer and did some MMA training to prepare for the World Cup. He is currently the only member of the Wizards set to play in the World Cup, though Drew Gooden is attempting to play for Finland.

Pelicans star Anthony Davis led all scorers with 20 points for Team USA and the Rockets’ James Harden added 18. Bulls point guard and former MVP Derrick Rose, playing in his first game in Chicago since tearing the medial meniscus in his right knee, displayed his usual flashes of explosiveness en route to seven points.

The Americans next head to New York for two exhibitions at Madison Square Garden this week. They play the Dominican Republic on Wednesday and Puerto Rico on Friday.
