The Washington Wizards are expected to sign guard Jaron Johnson to a non-guaranteed contract and have report for training camp next week, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

Johnson’s addition would bring the the Wizards’ training camp roster to the 20-player limit. Training camp will begin Tuesday at Towson University.

Johnson, 23, went undrafted out of Louisiana Tech in 2014 and played for the D-League’s Rio Grande Valley Vipers last season. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 15.1 points and 4.5 rebounds in 29.4 minutes over 50 games.

Washington already has 15 players with guaranteed contracts for the upcoming campaign and is expected to have those players comprise the 15-man roster to start the regular season. Johnson joins Ish Smith, Toure’ Murry, Josh Harrellson, and Jaleel Roberts as training camp invites with non-guaranteed deals.
