With the NBA season just more than a week away, fans and media members aren’t the only ones in the prediction and opinion business. NBA.com anonymously surveyed league general managers on a variety of topics and the league announced the results Tuesday morning.

The consensus is the Cleveland Cavaliers will win the championship and LeBron James will win MVP. Jahlil Okafor of the 76ers is the favorite for rookie of the year and Stephen Curry, the reigning MVP, is considered the best point guard in the league.

But we’re here for Wizards references and there were a few. First, 3.4 percent of front office heads predicted Washington will finish second in the Eastern Conference, 24.1 percent picked them to tabbed them third and 17.2 percent have them fourth. Based on the figures, the Wizards are considered the fifth-best team in the East behind the Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat.

John Wall took 53.4 percent of the vote for fastest player with the ball and Ish Smith, a training camp invite, also received votes. Wall, however, wasn’t voted among the top five passers after finishing second in the league in assists last season and wasn’t listed among the top point guards, a list that went four deep with Curry, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook and Mike Conley.

Sharpshooter Bradley Beal, entering a pivotal fourth season, received 10.3 percent of the vote for player most likely to breakout this season and Otto Porter Jr. also received votes. Jared Dudley and Garrett Temple were among those who received votes for players that would make the best head coach someday.
