Graph: Oscar acceptance speeches have doubled in length

It's not just your imagination: Oscar winners now take more than twice as long to accept their awards as they did back in the 1960s.

Georgia Tech student Rebecca Rolfe charts the history on her Thank the Academy site, which might be the most graph-heavy look at the Oscar ceremony ever produced. It includes data on over 200 acceptance speeches, such as how long they take to get through the address.
