Women spend 6 hours a week on housework, more than three times as much as men

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, women still spend significantly more time on average doing work in and around the house than men do. In 2013, the average American man spent almost two hours per week on lawn and garden care, almost twice as much as the average woman. However, women spent six hours per week on housework, over three times as much as men. Adding in time spent managing the household and performing maintenance, women worked an average of 8.5 hours per week, compared with 5.4 hours for men.
