Stark before-and-after images of Kiev’s Independence Square

Protesters remain encamped and fires continue to blaze in Kiev's Independence Square a day after violent clashes between protesters and government forces left more than two dozen dead.

The deadly turn came after three months of protests in Ukraine's capital and around the country. The panoramic image and videos below illustrate the extent of the damage to the city from the clashes there.

Max Fisher originally posted this panoramic photo in December. It's by AirPano, a not-for-profit organization of Russian photographers, and was taken Dec. 8.
