Many people may be trying to get into Europe at the moment, but not everyone who makes it there finds the life they might have hoped for.

In tweets sent Monday, police stationed at the city center in Manchester, Britain, revealed that a  troubled man had come to them to admit that he had been living illegally in the city for 10 years. The man was now sick of Manchester and wanted help to return home to Iran.

However, police passed the case to immigration authorities.

Although details about the case are spare, the story sparked amusement among many Mancunians. Manchester is one of the largest cities in Britain and a vital commercial center, but it also has a reputation as being gritty and its weather is notoriously glum even by British standards.

Unfortunately for the man, it appears that his appeals to escape Manchester and return home haven't worked.
