The definitive guide to what world leaders would be if they were dogs

As far as WorldViews is concerned, the most interesting use of Microsoft's new app "Fetch" — which identifies dog breeds on the basis of user photos — is this other feature where you can upload pictures of human faces for similar readings.

And we're not talking any old human faces. No, we took the mugs of world leaders and ran them through a wesbite that likened them to various dogs. Here are the results, whose forensic exactness we can't quite confirm.

Russian President Vladimir Putin...

...certainly does have a habit of preying on smaller creatures. (An alternative offering involves this remarkably disturbing gallery of images likening Putin to 14 hairless cats.)

German Chancellor Angela Merkel...

...is prone to barking at those around him.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan...

...has a tendency to see enemies around him and sometimes gets a bit carried away by it all.

French President Francois Hollande...

...apparently has something in common with the Indian prime minister, who hosted Hollande earlier this year to somewhat awkward effect.

Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff...

...those are perhaps the traits that led the former leftist guerrilla to rise to power, but she's in a world of trouble now.

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe...

...is an octogenarian potentate who refuses to relinquish power and still commands a great following.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau...

...is eager to please and has tried to be very friendly in his first few months in government.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad...

...well, this is quite awkward and definitely not true.
