The office of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte shared video of him watching bulldozers plow over “smuggled luxury vehicles” on Tuesday.

An announcer listed the year and make of vehicles as roofs caved in and hoods collapsed.

The Philippine Star reported Duterte said a week earlier that importers were auctioning smuggled cars to avoid paying custom duties.

Duterte's tactics in cracking down on crime have at times drawn international criticism.

The Washington Post's Emily Rauhala wrote in October that Duterte's battle to stop the drug trade in his country has left thousands dead and is increasing the spread of diseases such as hepatitis and HIV/AIDS.
