Another day, another controversial boxing decision at the Rio Games. Russia’s Evgeny Tishchenko won gold in Monday’s men’s heavyweight (91 kg) bout by unanimous decision over Kazakhstan’s Vassiliy Levit, but many people who watched the fight thought Levit was robbed.

Canada’s Arthur Biyarslanov expressed his frustration with the judging after dropping a split decision in the men’s light welterweight division Sunday. In a report about the alleged corruption of boxing’s world governing body, AIBA, before the Rio Games, The Guardian quoted one senior figure within amateur boxing who said there was “no doubt” that some of the judges and referees in Rio “will be corrupted.”
