Three more Russians retroactively punished for doping

The International Olympic Committee on Friday announced that three additional Russian track and field athletes, including sprinter Anastasiya Kapachinskaya, have been retroactively disqualified from the 2008 Beijing Olympics for testing positive for steroids in a reanalysis of doping samples. Kapachinskaya and her Russian teammates will be stripped of the silver medal they won in the women’s 4×400-meter relay after Kapachinskaya tested positive for the prohibited substances stanozolol and turinabol.

Jamaica and Belarus will be awarded the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
