Dan Balz’s April 26 front-page story, “With Barbour out, questions for GOP,” had a significant omission. He seemed to summarize the entire collection of Republican presidential candidates, even noting, “The field also includes two long shots,” and still didn’t mention Gary Johnson, a former two-term governor of New Mexico who announced his candidacy last week. He is an entrepreneur who turned a handyman business into a company that employed 1,000 people. After eight years as governor, he left behind a budget surplus. He is a legitimate and serious candidate.
