Regarding the May 11 Metro article “SUV fatally hits 77-year-old grandmother at Wheaton bus stop”:
Maria Lusminia Colindres’s age was relevant to the article since she still worked in the evenings as an office cleaner. But what did her family status matter?
Whether a woman in her late 70s doesn’t have grandchildren or a 39-year-old is a grandmother, it doesn’t change the fact that a driver attempting a U-turn careened across six lanes of traffic and struck and killed a pedestrian.
