Regarding the Aug. 30 editorial “Virginia’s war on abortion”:

The headline said it all: Indeed, this is a war — a war to save the most vulnerable of our little ones. The battle is drawn between those who acknowledge our God-given right to “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness,” as expressed so eloquently in our Declaration of Independence, and those who would deny the right to life if it is inconvenient.

While many of our courts support the killing of the unborn, that doesn’t make such an act any less evil, and we as a nation are paying a heavy price in innocent lives lost, families destroyed and communities in crisis.

Abortion is killing our children and our nation. We should work together to reduce this scourge and strengthen our families and our nation. Without the right to life, no other rights have any meaning.
