As I read “Into the lonely quiet” [front page, June 9], Eli Saslow’s eloquence in telling of the profound void felt by the Barden family of Newtown, Conn., moved and saddened me. This story of grief could not have been distilled into an evanescent tweet. It could have been conveyed only as it was, in “long form,” reminding us what it is to be human, carefully unfolding the feelings of the Barden family over days, months and into the future.
