We read with delight Jim Dinegar’s May 11 Local Opinions commentary, “No need to fear a company that’s ‘not from here,’ ” which discussed how PNC Bank management has emphasized a good-neighbor policy since arriving in the D.C. region.

Two years after buying Riggs Bank, PNC bought the bank where we did our banking, the old Annapolis Banking and Trust. Though we could now do it all online, we routinely go to the Odenton branch just to chat with our friends there. We are greeted by name and always welcomed. PNC gives us the efficiency and range of services of a national institution and the friendliness of a truly good small-town neighbor. How seldom one sees that anymore.
