Regarding the April 20 news article “Board would end ban on gay Boy Scouts”:

I was never a Boy Scout, but I was a Cub Scout and my dad was a troop leader back in the 1950s. I have to think that many scout leaders were once young scouts themselves.

Gay scouts will grow up and want to continue their love of scouting. Common sense tells us that it’s impossible to explain to them that they were welcome as youths, but now that the organization has helped make them the men they are today, it’s kicking them out.
