I read with interest the June 14 news article “Report: CIA women still hit glass ceiling,” about the challenges women face in getting promoted to senior positions in the CIA. The article noted parallels with the Foreign Service but said nothing about other intelligence agencies. In the context of this article, I believe the oversight misled readers, since talented women lead two such agencies (the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the National Reconnaissance Office). Challenges certainly exist, but some organizations have moved ahead of the CIA, which was not at all evident in the article.
